View from top

One of the best parts of visiting a new city is deciding where to stay. Whether it is a hotel or a rental property, one thing that is constantly considered is what your view will be like. Will you have an ocean view room at a hotel (typically more expensive) or a picturesque view of the mountains from your Airbnb. When so much planning and money goes into securing the view you want for your vacation, why then, don’t we create that same experience in our own homes? That is exactly what we did for our client when constructing this project.

A Modern View from the Top

Modern View

The first thing that catches your attention when you look at this home is the modern look with the angled mono pitched Skillion roof. The clean yet dramatic line is the epitome of modern design and makes the structure stand out and contrast nicely with the straight line of the deck addition. Built over the two-car garage and wrapping slightly around the side of the home, this deck just screams “come relax and enjoy the view!” Our clients chose light wood for the flooring and frame and added to the modern feel with cable railing and unique furniture. Huge windows provide natural light inside the home and are topped with lighting fixtures for those quiet evenings on the deck. The board and batten siding pairs well with the brick, stone, and slanted roof of the home, pulling the design all together.

The Inside View from the Top

The renovations done on the inside of the home are just as stunning as the outside. Walking in from the garage, you travel upstairs for another amazing view from the top, albeit inside. At the top of the stairwell, a distinctive light fixture follows suit with the modern design, showing the eclectic tastes of the homeowners. A clerestory window sits on the wall of the staircase for added view and of course, light!

Two doors lead out to the deck, and behind those doors are beautiful bedrooms that also get the benefit of the view from the large rectangular windows and doors. Both bright and airy with natural light and a soft color palette, these spaces combine comfort and style seamlessly.

The bathroom window is surrounded by lush greens letting in light and adding privacy. The contrast of the dark countertops and the white vanity and walls creates a peaceful space when getting ready each day. The bathroom is off the loft area and sits conveniently between the bedrooms for easy access.

Regardless of where you are in this home, inside or out, the views are spectacular. Creating their own little modern piece of beauty and enhancing it to be a spot they would want to visit or maybe never leave!
