With the support of our office staff, our field staff can get their tasks done and vice versa. By supporting one another, working together, and being efficient, our team is the foundation, wall studs, and insulation that hold up our NJW RU home.

One of these amazing employees is our Office Administrator, Chris Plantz. Chris has an array of responsibilities that are vital to keeping our operation running. The “go-to” person that runs the office and keeps up with the daily administrative work, and truly one of the most important functions. We sat down with Chris to ask her some questions about her job, her life, and her time with NJW RU.

What are some of your job responsibilities here at NJW RU?

I am responsible for paying bills, processing payroll, and completing our new hire paperwork.

What is another job you have held previously?

I was a Quality Analyst

What is your favorite part about being on the NJW RU team?

What I like most about being a part of the NJW RU team is that we all work so closely together; it’s more like a family. I came from a large corporation so one of the biggest things I like about my job with NJW RU is the flexibility. There is no micromanaging, you can work at your own pace, and I have plenty of people to lean on when I have concerns or questions.

What are some professional goals that you have?

I would like to strengthen my communication skills. I am introverted and have a fear of speaking up and out. That said, my biggest professional goal would be to learn how to communicate with impact. It’s extremely important to develop strong communication skills, engaging people to listen to you and trust you. It is an important quality of a leader.

What are some personal goals that you have?

I would like to purchase a home of my own and own some rental properties.

What are some of your achievements and accomplishments?

I have a cosmetology license and 8.5 beautiful grandchildren!

What are some of your hobbies or interests?

I love yard sales, thrifting, antiquing, and refurbishing old furniture.

What is a quirky fact about you?

I am double jointed.

Do you participate in any volunteer work?

I am not currently participating in volunteer work, however, given the opportunity I would love to be part of something bigger. I have a huge heart and would love to be part of something where I can visit nursing homes and bring smiles to the faces that no longer have anyone. Maybe a volunteer at a soup kitchen somewhere. There are so many of us who need help. We must be kind, caring, and considerate to everyone. I just want to be able to bring some warmth to someone’s heart.

From your point of view, what makes NJW RU different from other contractors?

Making sure that our clients come first. The biggest part of business spread by word of mouth. Be sure to communicate with your clients, be honest—they do share information with friends, family, and acquaintances. In addition, as I sit in my office, on more than one occasion, I have heard Mr. Walter passing in the hall saying to someone…” Think outside the Box.”
