One of those valued team members, is Cooper Rutledge, CR who is involved with client projects from start to finish . We asked Cooper some questions about his position, his experience, and his thoughts on being part of the NJW RU team.

What is your position at NJW RU?
Well, I do a little bit of everything, but I would say my title is Design Consultant/Project Manager.
What are your current job responsibilities?
I work with the team and client throughout the entire process—I am involved in the initial consultation Providing clients with initial design ideas and preliminary budgets. This includes measuring the existing space and providing feed back to our architect based on our clients wants and needs Additionally, I produce project specifications which is a roadmap for the project on paper. Then we move into production, and I help to manage the job from start to finish, including weekly meetings with the client to review detail, , and upcoming work. I serve as a point of contact for the client throughout the entre process.
When did you begin working at NJW RU?
7 years ago!
What was the best part of the merger with NJW?
I would say the expanded team. Having more team members to bounce ideas off of, work with, and be creative with. We also gained a beautiful showroom for our clients to experience. The Merger between NJW and RU Teams has over doubled or staff. This growth has enabled us to be more Productive and improve our client experiences even more. We also gained access to different trade partners, which is beneficial to our clients as well.

Where else have you worked?
I started my career in construction on the product sales side. I worked with Capital City Millwork as well as Paxton Lumber. Moving to NJW Renovations Unlimited allowed me to work on the whole project versus just a part of it, but I gained a lot of knowledge and experience on the product side as well.
How long have you worked in the industry?
About 18 years.
What Colleges did you attend or what training have you received?
I went to Bowling Green State University and then began working for the lumber company. My interest grew toward cabinetry and woodworking, and I began doing that as a hobby. After some time on the sales side, I became interested in the construction and remodeling side and pursued that.
Where do you live?
I currently live in Reynoldsburg, OH and I am from Cincinnati, OH.
What kind of volunteer work do you do?
I coach my son and my daughter’s soccer team and have done so for the last three years! They are 5 & 7 and I really enjoy spending time with them and coaching them and their peers.
What is an interesting fact about you?
Well, I love furniture making and still do this as a hobby when time allows. I also love to ski and try to get out West once a year to hit the slopes.
What else should we know?
When I work with a client, I always talk to them about the importance of communication. Whether it is good or bad—an open line of communication is key. We cannot fix something if we do not know what it is. This is why our weekly client meetings are so important and so valuable.
