Cabinetry
As your Columbus remodeling company, some of the biggest questions we receive surround the cabinetry, and the budget for that type of project.

Whether you are planning new construction or a kitchen remodel, your cabinet budget will be structured about the same.  According to Cost VS Value 2015 report found within Remodeling magazine, January 2015, current average costs of a minor kitchen remodel is $19,000, with a mid-range remodel running approximately $56,000, and finally an upscale remodel will fall around $113,000.

One thing you want to consider when doing a remodeling project is the market value of your home to determine your remodeling budget. Most studies suggest that 90-98% of kitchen remodeling costs can be recouped, but kitchen remodeling is only a good investment if the cost is relative to the house’s worth. Generally speaking, a kitchen remodeling budget should not exceed 15% to 20% of your home’s value. Of this budget, at least one third of the cost should be designated for cabinetry.

It is important to be honest about your cabinet budget.  NJW is happy to work within your reasonable guidelines if we understand limitations from the onset.  Better communication in planning results in lower stress for everyone! The best way to avoid overspending your budget is to be specific in your planning.  Even with careful observance, you can expect a budget overrun due to unforeseen costs and unbudgeted expenditures.  However, typically the expenditures come when your selections have not been defined early in the construction progress.  Make it your goal to iron out those selections either prior to signing a remodeling contract or soon after one has been signed. Lastly, be sure to know what you need vs. what you want.
