NAME: Lisa Woods @designxwoods

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU AT WORK?
Seeing design presentations and renderings come to life! Caffeine too ?

What has been the most fun, challenging, or interesting project you’ve worked on recently? And WHY?

The most fun and challenging project I’ve worked on recently was Luxe 23 & Whiskey Lounge in the Short North. The style was so bold & vibrant and challenging in that they were blending many different uses…from multi-family clubhouse to a whiskey lounge, all in one space! I was very pleased with the outcome; it was unlike any other property I’ve ever worked on and definitely so different for Columbus!

What was the craziest thing that happened to you at work?

Telling my co-workers that I was pregnant last year was really fun and exciting; I was so happy I didn’t have to keep a secret any longer.

As a Designer, what is the best part about working with a trusted contractor?

Knowing there is a team approach to the project, all hands-on deck to make sure the job is done right and with the best possible look. Trusting your contractor is key in ensuring the project goes as smoothly as possible.

Have you recently celebrated, or will you be celebrating anything that you would like to share?

My daughter Penelope just turned 6 months old! It has been great to see her grow alongside my other daughter Amelia.

What is something new you learned recently – either for your job or personally?

Planning & delegating are the biggest keys to success in life and career in my opinion. Being able to have foresight and planning into the future has helped me tremendously in all facets of life.

WHO DESERVES A SHOUT-OUT?

What team member do you feel deserves a shout-out for the hard work, innovative solution and/or best idea?

Lisa Utrup, our project manager! She is always on top of her projects and is willing to help coordinate to get things done.
